CLOSED FOR HOLIDAYS UNTIL JANUARY 6TH

3 October, World Architecture Day

World Architecture Day is celebrated on the first Monday of October by decision of the International Union of Architects (UIA) in 1996.

Architectural projects are often related to progress, culture, evolution and the passage of time.

Currently, the trend is to build housing that is in harmony with the environment, with the appropriate conditions for coexistence and at the same time ensure the sustainability of cities.

At Groël, we aim above the target to reach it. For this reason, we are very proud of all our projects and we want to give them value and recognition.

That is why for this World Architecture Day, we have selected these three projects to present them to you.

1. Curve Business Centre, by BNP Paribas, Saint-Denis (Paris).

The Curve business center, located in the city of Saint-Denis, was conceived by Chartier Dalix Architectes and carried out by the real estate developer BNP Paribas. It is a building of 24,000 square meters and curved shape whose structure is made of solid wood as an example of respect for the environment in the ecological neighbourhood of Zac Monjoie. To complete this project, the SOKOL lever handle, was chosen, a high-flying handle, where modern minimalism prevails without losing firmness.

2. Josep Tarradellas Airport Barcelona-El Prat, Barcelona.

When we talk about Barcelona airport, we mean the second largest Spanish airport with a huge passenger traffic, as the greatest part of national and international flight connections take place in its facilities. In the extension that took place in 2002, the BACI lever handle gave a sophisticated but minimalist, simple and modern touch to the new facilities of the airport.

3. Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, Catar.

The NINA lever handle is the chosen one to complete the design of Al Rayyan’s Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium. The most striking feature of this spectacular stadium is a resplendent façade, composed of motives that characterize different aspects of the country: the importance of the family, the beauty of the desert, the native flora and fauna, as well as local and international trade. The NINA handle fits perfectly into this project thanks to the movement evoked by its undulating lines that correspond to those of the stadium structure.
